A ketogenic diet is a nutritional programme which involves restricting your carbohydrate intake to less than 50 g per day. Your carb source primarily comes from green fibrous vegetables. All carbohydrates higher in that should be eliminated from your diet to reach ketosis.
What is ketosis?
It is when your body goes from burning carbohydrates as a primary fuel source to burning body fat as it's primary fuel source. The result? You should lose weight.
Which foods do you eat?
Basically you eat 80% fat, 15% protein and 5% carbs.
Why eat 80% fat? I will explain in more detail next week. Stay tuned.
